10 Random Facts About Beauregard Jack Fargas

1. His real name isn't Jack.
His birth name is Beauregard Fargas, while Jack is a nickname given to him many years ago, because of his steadfast work ethic, and mastery of many types of business. One day, he was called a "Jack of all trades", a common term to describe someone who has many talents. The nickname stuck, and he often refers to himself as "Jack" rather than his full name.

2. He's blind.
Biologically, Jack's eyes are useless. They have not worked for most of his life, yet this does not prevent him from seeing. His unnatural yellow eyes are the result of a spell which allows him to see and function as if he had his natural eyesight all along.

3. Abaddon is responsible for his power.
As a young man, Jack bartered with a powerful demon to gain his magic and power. The demon, Abaddon, was more than happy to endow Jack with his magical gifts, although for what purpose is not yet known. Jack thinks that Abaddon was simply bored, and in need of someone to give him entertainment throughout the years. Jack and Abaddon share a relationship as enemies, friends, and counterparts in business and the art of making money. Their relationship is difficult to understand, even they don't seem to know how to regard one another. Yet that does not stop them from their drama, theatrics, and competition.

4. He clones himself magically to run his multiple businesses.
If there is a small business in town, it is a safe bet that Jack owns and runs it himself. Menny's Family Diner is but one of many. Jack will create magical clones of himself, which all think and move independently to keep an eye on his shops. It is not known which one is the original Jack, nor how many clones he has. They all share the same memories, so for all intents and purposes, it really is as if Jack is in 2 places at once.

5. He loves cats.
Jack is an animal lover, often preferring their company to that of people, but cats are his favorite. He collects many of them at his home, and cares deeply for each one.

6. He's over 800 years old.
Born in Britain in the 1200's, Jack has sustained his life through the centuries through magical means. He is technically immortal, yet his body changes as he ages. Whether this is because of his choosing or nature taking its course is not known. No pictures of Jack exist before the 1900's, yet he claims to have had long curls in his chestnut hair, blue eyes, and the same dashing smile.

7. He's obsessed with making money.
While he possesses the power to create money out of thin air, or make other objects appear as money, Jack prefers to make it the old fashioned way; through marketing and business. He is deeply out of touch with what people think is a "friendly" business, and is woefully unaware of how creepy he can look with what he thinks is a charming smile, yet his businesses work very well. Jack admits that he prefers regular business to power and influence, because it's one of the few constants in his life. As he is prone to saying "Man is a fleeting thing, and power comes and goes. But the value of money is something you can always count on to turn a few heads."

8. Figs is an old friend of his.
As a businessman, Jack is automatically inclined to seek out other businessmen to see how he can gain the upper hand, and possibly take over their earnings. Many years ago, one such encounter led him to meet Archimedes "Figs" Pharfignewton. The two became friends, and have remained in loose contact over the years. Jack is also the only person to call Figs Archimedes, while Figs is one of the few to call Jack Beauregard.

9. Culturally, he's still 200 years behind.
Jack has seen countless fashions come and go, yet he remains certain that Victorian era Britain was the pinnacle of fashion. He still wears the sharp, stiff collared suit, neck bindings, and many old fashioned trappings. He seems unaware that fashion has moved on since then, yet is unwilling to change from his favorite clothing style.
