Ben- Hello everyone!

This is a long, VERY long overdue conest prize to :iconpiginpjs:

A while back, she won first place in a group contest, for an April Fools joke themed comic! For her prize, she asked me for a picture of 2 babies fighting over a cat. No problem, I said! Only to realize that I had no clue on how to draw babies! I asked if I could use the EG crew to help ease the process along.

Mercifcully, my wife was there to help! Having never drawn a baby before, she had a remarkable knack in how to tell me to make them. Granted, these two are a bit older than newborn babies, but babies they are, nonetheless!

I hope you like it! And congrats! Your entry was awesome!:clap::clap:

Now, this picture has nostalgic value to it as well. The fat, VERY fat cat in there is an homage to an old cat of mine, named Matthew.

Matthew was my very first animal. He was 2 years old when I was born, my parents bought him for my sister when she was born. He was the most wonderful cat a family could ask for. He was gentle, loving, and put up all of our shit, with nary a complaint. My sister and I loved him like a brother, he was just so wonderful. He was fat, all his life, and we called him "Fatty Matty", lol! I remember he used to sleep on the heat vents, and the entire room would be cold, because he wouldn't let the hot air through! :XD:

I grew up with Matthew. He was there from the moment I was born, until I was 17 years old. 19 years, he lived, that is a LONG freakin' time! Even though we all know what happens, nothing can prepare you for the day it comes to finally let them go. He was my best friend, he was a brother, he was a son to me.

He was also the first friend to who I had to say goodbye.

Even now I get teary eyed, as I write this, because no matter how long I live, I will always miss him. But it is times like this that I like to remember him. This picture represents him as he was with my sister and I, we always used to fight over who got to see him first.

It represents who he would be now, as Erika and I joking steal the cats away from eachother.

It represents as he would be in the future, because my furture children will know the love that an animal can bring to your life.

More than anything, it represents the joy that owning a cat can bring, or any pet for that matter. It is a joy that everyone should feel, because everyone should feel the unconditional love and loyalty that they bring, even if just for a while.

So grab your cat, dog, whatever, and cherish every moment you have with them! Even if you have to steal them from another family member :XD:
